Collaboration: Partnering with Families and Professionals

Strong partnerships with families and professionals are essential for supporting every child’s growth. We hold regular family-teacher conferences to discuss progress, share resources, and set goals together. For example- a teacher might collaborate with a parent to create a home routine that reinforces self-help skills, such as toileting, or cleaning up toys. We also collaborate with professionals like speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and special education teachers through Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs). These professionals meet with our team to design strategies such as using visual schedules or adaptive seating that help children succeed in daily activities. By working together, we create regular opportunities to mutually share information about a child’s learning and development. This ensures constant two-way communication and collaboration between families and school staff. National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments-U.S. Department of Education. We believe in creating consistency between school, home, and therapy, giving every child the best chance to thrive.
